Know Fran, our lifeguard!

What is your position in Marina Suites and how long have you been working in it?
I’m the lifeguard of the Marina Suites and I have been working in the company for two and a half years now.

What do you like most of Gran Canaria?

From Gran Canaria I would stand out its beaches, our warm climate and the typical Canarian festivals in the different towns of the island. It is also a wonderful place to practice all types of sports. We can’t also forget the typical Canarian food and the kindness of the people.

Which place of Gran Canaria do you like the most?

My favorite place of Gran Canaria is Agaete, a little fisher town situated in the north of Gran Canaria. Its an excellent place to eat a barbecue fish and the best seafood while you enjoy the spectacular landscape with its little coast houses. We can also visit the Tamadaba National Park; one of the most beautiful places of the Canary Islands.
You can’t also lose the opportunity of going to La Rama Festival in honor to Las Nieves Virgin, where thousands of people dance and shake the branches until they reach the Las Nieves sanctuary.

What do you like most of the Marina Suites?

The Marina Suites hotel is a very calm and relaxed place, very familiar and cozy hotel. My favorite place of course is the pool area mainly because of the wonderful sights and the atmosphere.

Which advices could you give to our clients when using the pool?

The main advices that I can give to the users of the pool are:
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, avoiding the sun from 12:00 to 16:00. It is essential to hydrate yourselves; especially when it is very hot.
  • Use sunscreen with a high protection factor, of at least 30 SPF. Don’t use oil creams with low sun protection to avoid dangerous sunburns.
  • We must be careful about drinking alcohol or medicines if we are with high temperatures and we are going to use the pool, as we could feel dizziness, sickness or any other problem that could cause a problem.
  • Don’t use the pool when you have just eaten and enter it progressively in order to avoid drastic temperature change.
